  Early departure from Shira Plateau,
always gazing at the goal..

Above the height of 4000m flora
gets sparsely.

To our feet is an ocean of lava,
looking like freezed just a moment ago.

Stones, too, can catch the eye by colourful surfaces.

Each afternoon it was raining for up to 2 hours before clearing in early evening. Mornings were always very clear. It was end of January.

Sunshine all the time would be boring, wouldn't it?

Junction at the Southern Circuit.
These were the only signs we saw and it was not completely reliable. One pointed to Arrow Hut which was washed away by a mountain slide years ago.

Barranco Valley which opens to the South welcomes the walker with a green scenery.
A Lobelia.

A copse of big senecias at
Barranco camp.
