Eliud Kipchoge and Brigid Kosgei (KEN)
are London Marathon Champions 2019.

Eliud Kipchoge (KEN) is the first man to win in London
for the 4th time. Adding to this he improved his own course
record to 2:02:37, the second fastest time in history. He was
chased by two incredible Ethiopian runners. Mosinet Geremew
is the fastest runner-up of all times, 2:02:55 makes him
also the second fastest marathon runner after Eliud. Mule
Wasihun placed third after 2:03:16, what would still have
been a new course record.
In the ladies' race Brigid Kosgei (KEN) showed a
breathtaking performance by running the second half in stunning
66:42, the fastest time any woman has run ever. Defending
champion Vivian Cheruiyot (KEN) ran to second place in
2:20:14, the biggest gap between winner and runner-up since
2005. 21-year-old Roza Dereje (ETH) won the sprint for
3rd place on the podium after 2:20:51.
